In recognition of the unparalleled challenges created by the current pandemic of Covid-19, we invite practitioners and students to contribute to the Continuing Professional Development section of Child Abuse Review:

Reflections on Practice During a Pandemic

The current global pandemic has created loss and disruption to professional and personal lives on a previously unparalleled scale. Populations are required to live in lockdown, children are excluded from access to school, routine social activities no longer take place and health and social care services are struggling under the pressure.

Within this exceptional period of global pandemic, we recognise the work of health and social care practitioners, who maintain their practice, as they adapt to a multiplicity of challenges. We seek to capture these challenges, as well as the opportunities afforded by this unique moment in history.

We are inviting practitioners and students involved with health and social care to submit brief, reflexive essays (under 1,500 words) to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) section of Child Abuse Review. We are interested in capturing the work being carried out at this time, including the challenges, the frustration, the co-operation, the courage and the hope.

Submissions can depart from the normal academic format, but will undergo an accelerated peer review in order to guarantee suitability for the CPD section of the journal. Submissions which, for whatever reason, are not published within the CPD section of the journal will be considered for the Association of Child Protection Professionals News.

Articles should be submitted online via ScholarOne Manuscripts

Please refer to the author guidelines for CPD articles. Alternatively, articles can be submitted as a Short Report.

Deadline
The deadline is 4th July 2020. Due to the exceptional circumstances we can only accept articles which need minimum revision and are close to publication standard.
