We're delighted to welcome our host, Marcella Leonard of Leonard Consultancy - AoCPP member, colleague and current holder of the AoCPP/NSPCC Child Protection Trainer of the Year award - to this special interest group meeting. This time we will be discussing CASP-R:
"The duality of the challenge within child protection of initially identifying what is the risk posed to the child is then further added to by assessing what protectiveness, if any, is in the family system. The CASP-R was developed to assist practitioners in assessing not only whether the parent / carer can protect the child but , critically, do they have capacity to supervise risk as well as often these two skills are not simultaneously present?
This webinar will discuss the challenge of assessing protectiveness and provide an overview of the model and its application to child protection decision making."
There will be plenty of time for discussion with Marcella and the other participants and, as we are always oversubscribed to these meetings, a recording of it will be available to members only, afterwards if you haven't managed to secure a place.
If you are not yet a member it really is a good time to join us - we are offering your first three months for free!
You can hear more from Marcella in our current series of podcasts. Catch up with all of them here
