Dr Jennifer Driscoll, Senior Lecturer, King’s College London

Jenny practised as a Family Law barrister in London for over a decade, specialising in child protection, before moving to King’s College London where she runs the MAs in Child Studies and International Child Studies. Her academic interests are at the intersection of children’s rights and child protection. Jenny was an academic adviser for the UK Alternative Civil Society Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Current/recent research projects include an ESRC-funded project on the role of schools in safeguarding and Leverhulme-funded study of the interaction between formal and informal child protection arrangements in Uganda. Her book ‘Transitions from Care to Independence’ was published by Routledge in 2017.
