Nina Vaaranen-Valkonen is a Co-Founder and Executive Director of Protect Children. She also works as Senior Specialist and Psychotherapist and has 20 years of professional experience protecting children from sexual violence.  She is currently the Offender Management Sub-Group Chair at Interpol SGCAC (Specialist Group on Crimes against Children). 

Protect Children is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Helsinki, Finland, working internationally with a dedicated team to end all forms of sexual violence against children. Protect Children adopts a holistic, research-based approach to prevent harm before it occurs, as well as providing support to victims and families affected by childhood sexual abuse and exploitation. Protect Children is globally known for its innovative research on online child sexual abuse material offending, which provides critical insights into those who perpetrate abuse, as well as its significant advocacy efforts, all conducted with strong participation from survivors. The educational materials designed to strengthen children's safety, along with the training provided by Protect Children, are based on the latest research and knowledge gathered.
