'Reviewing Challenges & Dispelling Myths for Children in Care with SEND'

Overview for the Masterclass:

This virtual masterclass will review the challenges faced with the aim of dispelling myths perceived by children in care, professionals, parents and carers. We will start with an update of recent studies, research and statistics of children in care with SEND and Education Health Care Plans. Presentations by the seminar leads from education, children social care and SEND tribunal reviews. Followed by a Q&A session for with all seminar leads. Time for reflection and debate of experiences and case studies shared will be factored into the afternoon. By the end of the masterclass you will have increasing your understanding around current thinking, impact of covid-19 and the complexities for this area of practice for children in care with disabilities. Be more informed to be able to challenge within the multiagency system, advocating for the child’s wishes and needs.
