Lunch and Learn | SP-ARK Suicide Prevention – Awareness, Resource, Knowledge. An introduction to PAPYRUS and Suicide Prevention
Confronting the issue: Suicide in young people
In the UK, suicide stands as the leading cause of death among individuals aged 35 and under. Which is why it is vital that our sector confronts the factors that contribute to the tragic loss of young lives by suicide – together we can explore ways to prevent these outcomes and support those at risk of taking their own lives.
In this session, David Heald, the Area Manager for Wales at PAPYRUS, will provide invaluable insights into PAPYRUS’ expertise in suicide prevention and the promotion of positive mental health in young people.
The session will discuss their SP-ARK (Suicide Prevention – Awareness, Resource, Knowledge) method of thinking about suicide prevention, and will particularly focus on their Building Suicide-Safer Schools and Colleges guide, equipping educators with essential skills to support students facing suicidal thoughts.
Join us for an insightful discussion that aims to empower our community of professionals.
