We know these are really challenging times for everyone working in Child Protection and that you will be juggling a huge workload - whether out on the frontline or managing from home.
Before Covid-19 you could meet our experts in person at one of our large-scale training and networking events - so in order to be able to support you while that isn’t possible, we’re coming to you in the comfort of your own home!
Drawing on our long list of expert supporters and colleagues within Child Protection, we are delighted to announce we are putting the finishing touches to our rolling programme of podcasts: "This week in the News". This is a weekly podcast series giving you regular updates of the latest news within Child Protection. Lasting around 20 minutes and presented by a weekly guest host, we will be sharing the latest reports, research and resources which will be of interest to everyone working within this most challenging of professions - whether you're from a health, police, social services, training or academic background - we'll have something for you.
Alongside “This Week in the News” we’ll also be providing one-off podcasts on various relevant topics and reacting to news as it happens. Wendy Thorogood, our AoCPP chair (pictured) will launch these very soon – keep an eye on our website, social media posts and direct e mails for details of when and how to access these.
All our podcasts will be available free of charge but we will provide some extra resources for our members. If you aren’t already part of our organisation, there has never been a better time to join.
We are the only organisation existing solely to support child protection professionals and with membership from £8 a month (or three posh coffees!) you’ll have access to exclusive online and printed copies of our publication: “Child Abuse Review”, the members’ area of this website, discounts on all events and all the networking and support opportunities of being part of a thriving, busy professional organisation.
